James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, has today announced that he will be holding an open surgery on Friday 14th November at the local B&Q store on Fossetts Way in Southend.
James holds a regular surgery in his Southend office on Southchurch Road where constituents can make appointments to see him about various problems or issues. With the kind permission of B&Q, James has decided to hold a one-off, drop-in surgery at the store where people can have an informal chat with him at a convenient location.
Commenting today, James said:
“Most people will be heading down to B&Q before the weekend to get furnishings for Christmas or perhaps pick up some paint or tools to do a little decorating before the Christmas rush takes over. I want people to know that not everything has to be ‘do-it-yourself’ and I am here to help if they need it. In the current economic climate many people who have never been in financial difficulties before feel that they have no one to turn to with their problems.”
“The aim of this surgery is to give those people the opportunity to talk to me whilst out doing something they need to do. It means they don’t have to fit yet another appointment into their busy schedule but can still chat to me about a problem they may be having.”
As the MP for Rochford and Southend East, James will try to help all constituents - regardless of how they voted at the General Election. The surgery will take place on Friday 14th November from 9:30am-11:30am at the B&Q store on Fossetts Way, Eastern Avenue, Southend, SS2 4DQ. If you have any questions please contact James on 01702 616 135.
