James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, has supported a 10 Minute Rule Bill tabled by Diana Johnson MP which seeks to decriminalise abortion across all four nations in the United Kingdom.
The Bill which was brought to the House on Monday will retain the 24 week limit and the requirement that all procedures to be regulated and performed as they are today. It also introduces a new offence for abusive partners to recklessly or purposefully using violence or threats of violence or administration of abortion pills to end a pregnancy.
"It is important that women have the same rights across the United Kingdom. This is why I support this bill, to ensure women in our country have the right to choose and are protected by the law."
