James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, is appealing for people who have old cars, vans and motorcycles to donate them to Crown College for their new course for trainee motor mechanics.
Crown College's new training centre on Sutton Road, Southend is going to offer a Level 1 qualification in Motor Vehicle Studies, which will give students the necessary skills and knowledge to be a motor mechanic.
As the course is practical, the students will be unable to complete their diploma without the generosity of local people who are able to donate old cars.
If you are in a position to donate a vehicle, please contact Elaine Wardrop at Crown College on 01702 341 169.
James, who is going to visit the College's site in Sutton Road on 29th July said:
""This excellent vocational training course will give lots of young people in Rochford and Southend and South East Essex a great opportunity to learn the skills and knowledge to launch a career in the motor industry.""
""I would urge any local people and businesses who have old vehicles that are not needed to please donate them to Crown College. Our future mechanics have to get practical experience to complete their course and progress with
their careers.""
Elaine Wardrop, Business Development Manager for Crown College said:
""Crown College has developed a Level 1 qualification in Motor Vehicle Studies in response to demand from local schools and young people. The opening of our seventh training centre on Sutton Road will build on Crown's existing provision, delivering new opportunities for the young people of South East Essex.""
