James Duddridge, MP for Rochford and Southend East, will be accompanied by James Brokenshire, MP for Hornchurch and Rainham, on a visit to Southend Police Station on Friday 20th June.
They will receive a presentation from the Divisional Commander of Essex Police, Dave Folkard, about the focus the police have recently placed on night-time problems in Southend. The two MPs will also be able to see in action the latest police gadgets: the Knife Arch, and the Ion track – an explosives and narcotics detection system which can check clothing, baggage or vehicles.
