James Duddridge, MP for Rochford and Southend East, has welcomed the Conservative party’s launch of their campaign to highlight the consequences of the debt crisis that Britain finds itself in.
The poster, which will be displayed across the country shows a four week old baby alongside the slogan ‘Dad’s Nose. Mum’s Eyes. Gordon Brown’s Debt’. The poster also states that ‘Every Child in Britain is born owing £17,000.’
James is very concerned about the amount of debt that the Government has put onto individuals and speaking today said,
‘I am really pleased that this campaign has been launched. People deserve to know exactly how much the debt crisis is costing them. It is very worrying to see that the amount of debt that our country is in equates to £17,000 per person.
Our national debt is at a record level and illustrates how this Government will continue to borrow their way out of the financial crisis. As the poster states, our children deserve better than to be born burdened by debt’.
