James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, has today made a visit to Shoeburyness Youth Centre where he met Janice Lyons to discuss the centre’s recent award of nearly 3 million pounds from the Big Lottery Fund, which will fund the construction of a completely new youth centre.
During his visit, James heard all about the plans for the new centre, which include a restaurant, outdoor area, sports and IT facilities. The centre also plans to offer several activities and advice services.
Speaking after the visit, James said:
“Congratulations to Shoeburyness Youth Centre for winning this award. The lottery funding has allowed for a completely new youth centre, which is so important for the development of local 10-19 year olds. I have been impressed with not only the construction plans for the centre, but also the greater variety of activities, advice and training programmes on offer which will give those who use the centre new skills, opportunities and aspirations.”
